Bonnie Brooks and I did an 'art talk' at the Grace Community Centre in Sydenham last month. Kathryn filmed us while we were talking, and here is the result. I warn you ...you need about 1/2 hour to get through the whole thing....and I warn you when I'm talking I am a moving target...I should really learn to stay close to the mike! ha ha.
The quilts and photos hanging on the wall behind us are not part of the retrospective exhibition, they are gifts that belong to the Grace centre, and could not be moved for the show. Below is a poor photo I took, but you can see some of the paintings in the exhibit hanging on the walls around the hall. Bonnie's are on the left and mine on the right. It's a big hall, and there is a big mural on the centre wall. The hall is used for many meetings, yoga classes etc, so there is a lot of other supplies in the space.
I don't have sound here on the work computer but I will definitely check it out later :)

ReplyDeleteWow Sally,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic talk! You guys (sorry women) are great. I loved your part. You are so easy and relaxed talking it was a pleasure to watch you and listen. It felt like I had you here with me. And your work! Just stunning from start to the last one.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching your talk Sally, I felt like an insider when you spoke about paintings that I remembered seeing and enjoying on your posts over previous months. So nice to see you speaking and to hear your voice! Your fellow speaker Bonnie Brooks was also lovely and has beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed watching Wendy. I hesitated to post it at first because I dont like the sound of my voice...but I guess everyone feels like that. then I thought how much i enjoy watching other artists videos so changed my mind.
