Softly Into Spring - oil on wood - 8 x 8 inch |
Keeping up with the 30 in 30 challenge has proved difficult for me with time away from home this month. However, even if I cant do the lot, I'm feeling good that at least I've cracked on and pushed myself to paint small and often at the times when I can. This painting is for day 21 of the challenge, but for me it is actually only my 16th little painting in the group.
This is gorgeous Sally! The title suits it perfectly. I think it's great how you've stuck with the challenge when you've had so much on.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy,
Deletethanks! yes I'm sticking with it when I can, and when I cant, I'm not bothered.
Sounds like a good plan!
DeleteSo beautiful. Do the tulips really grow on both sides of the canal. (I should know I grew up there, but forget). I love how you chose design over specifics. So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteXOXOXOXOXOXOXO (Can you imagine Vermeer worrying about how many paintings he did in a challenge? I say relax you are an amazing painter.)
hi Barbara,
Deletethank you...no you're right the tulips dont grow on both sides of the canal, but i felt like it needed a bit of pink on the other side to balance the design. It could really be anywhere that has tulips in the spring...where it is wasn't really important to me, i just used that photo as reference. and yes you're right I am relaxing about the challenge, I do what I can, and it's enough. thanks for your encouragement.
This is so lovely. Warmth and sunshine. Love the brush strokes!!!
