Late Summer Afternoon- oil on panel- 6x8 inch |
Driving through this village (Newburg) in the late afternoon last summer, the light was just so delicious that I actually pulled over, stopped the car just to drink it in. Snapped a couple of pics on my phone to remember it by. That was the inspiration for tonight's subject. Definately a candidate for my 'Sunny Ways' theme.
Love it. I'm trying to remember Newburg. It is definitely a candidate for the "sunny ways" theme.

Hi Barbara, thanks! Newburg is just west of Camden East, a little Ontario village in the countryside, with a river running through it and cute old limestone buildings.
Deleteoh, Sally I love this! You really know how to capture the sunshine. How nice imagining you singing along to Australian folk songs while you painted.
ReplyDeletethanks Wendy! Yes I thought of you while singing along with John Williams:)
DeleteMy favorite! Nice composition with a sunny atmosphere. Saw you work on Leslie Saeta's site.
ReplyDeletethank you Connie, for stopping by and leaving your comment. It's always nice to have feedback, thanks!
DeleteReally love this sunny painting, the place looks so inviting with the flower pots , beautifully contrast in sun / shadow !
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane,...yes it looks like it could be an old English village or maybe even Italy or something, doesn't it...sorry to deflate the romantic baloon, but it is a little limestone village in Ontario, ...Newburg!
