Computer woes

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...just stuck with a frozen computer.  I've been having problems with it for a couple of weeks, but this past week it really went down.  hopefully next week i'll be back online properly...in the meantime...it's just amazing the amount of stuff i actually get done in a day when i dont spend any time on a computer! Last week one day i marvelled at this when i was driving BACK from the shops at 10:30 am having completed my morning workout, chores, and errands ! Wow usually i think i have no time in a day...but really i know that i burn valuable time 'plugged in'. it's funny how life was also good back when there was no computers. we think we cant do without them...but really it's probably good to be reminded of the natural order of the way life is.

  1. Hi Sally,
You are so right about how much time is eaten into on a computer. I was only thinking that very thing just minutes before reading your post! But it can be a lot of fun too. I think the answer is to be strict on the time spent on it. It sounds good in theory but I'm yet to achieve it.
Will look forward to you being back on line properly soon!

  2. hi Wendy, yes there are lots of benefits too...one of them is meeting 'artist peeps'... like you! I hope to have a new laptop up and running this week.

  4. Hi Sally,

Before computers were huge I know we had more time, but I wonder if we spent it watching TV. Now we spend our time writing and reading, and what I love the most is learning -- especially learning about how you paint, and what you paint!

I know what you're saying is true. But my life has been transformed mostly in good ways by this invention. And I'll be so happy when your back to blogging.

    XOXO Barbara

  6. Hi Barbara,
You are right, learning is definately at ones fingertips in this computer age and that is wonderful...so is all the nice things about having computers...but i think it's grounding to every now and then be reminded that we dont control the world like we sometimes think we do with our technology. man...Oklahoma and other recent catastrophies surely bring that home. you are right though we are lucky to enjoy the benefits...and i'm not for one minute wishing we lived in simpler times...just pointing out that there are treasures to be found in the simple life too.
But I'm glad i'm back online now!!
